Years ago, when I was restoring my 1943 Willy’s MB, an older friend of mine told me how to make that Jeep ride like a Cadillac. He told me to drive it under a hoist, remove the radiator cap, push the rest out of the way, then go push a Cadillac under the hoist, and put that Jeep radiator cap on the Cadillac. 

I figured then and now, that’s about right. If I wanted a military type radio with any or all of the modern capability and gadgetry in it, I wouldn’t have gotten an 80 year old antique.  I just would have bought a modern radio.  But then, again, it also wouldn’t have been as much fun to get it and keep it working either.
