Label plate on the transmitter said Property of Pan American Airways, probably was installed back in the 1930s when Pan Am initiated Clipper seaplane service to Rock Sound, one of their earliest destinations out of Miami. Apparently the Rock Sound NDB has gone dark, as there is no reference to it on the current Rock Sound Airport information online That airport’s designator is now MYER, some references list both MYER and RSD. Wouldn’t be surprised if the transmitter is still there though!
