You might want to do that under concealment in the jungle, especially at night.  Turning on a light then does invite some really bad “Ju-Ju”. Can bring you bad things and upset all your mates around you.

Per the 1950's "notes for signalers". You unscrew the dial lamp and jam it into the BNC antenna socket and transmit..  the lamp will glow brightly.....
