I have one of those sets. Apparently someone tried to calibrate the radio. The coil forms were loose and the slugs moved around in the forms and did not hold calibration. I was thinking of placing wax in the forms to keep the slugs in place.

Neat little radio. The FCC used them for mobile monitoring.
