This is a very rare item. It is a BC-222 radio receiver and transmitter set that dates from the 1930s and made for the Artillery. It is AM, output is 750 mW and covers 26 mcs to 52mcs ( 10 meter and part of 6 meter band). The radio comes with two plug-in coils, C-174 covers 27.7-38.5 mcs and C-175 covers 36.9 to. 52.2. It is continuously tunable.
Does not include the two tubes (VT-33 and VT-67) or the battery case. This item is only the radio itself and an electronic version of the manual. I suspect this radio was never issued. It is MINT except for a bit of corrosion on the web belt buckles. I have little technical information on it. Made by Majestic Radio and TV Corp in Chicago Ill. I have had this radio since I was 13 years old. It is the only one I have ever seen. Don’t know if it works. Sold as-is, no returns due to parts swappers. May be just a super cool shelf queen......
Manual may be downloaded here: http://www.radiomanual.info/schemi/Surplus_NATO/SCR-194_SCR-195_BC-222_user_1938.pdf
Asking price $550.00 plus shipping and insurance. Email w1rc at near-fest.com if interested.
