There is something to be said for using the test equipment of the same
vintage as the equipment under test. It is exactly good enough.
This won't help Ray much but I have for sale a Measurements 80 generator
with calibrated output attenuator that previously served in the Navy. It
is just right for WWII-era HF and VHF receiver testing. Probably need an
LM or a modern frequency counter to set the frequency accurately. Just
fired it up the other day.
$10 but you gotta pick it up in central NJ. Comes with 3, count 'em 3
manuals.
