FWIW, WHEN I WAS A PRACTICING DENTIST SOME YEARS AGO, I DID SOME RESEARCH INTO WHAT KELVIN TEMP WAS BEST FOR MY OVERHEAD LIGHTS, TO GIVE A “NATURAL” LIGHT, SUCH THAT MY CROWNS WOULD MATCH A PATIENTS OTHER NATURAL TEETH. AS 5500K BEST MIMICS NATURAL SUN LIGHT, THOSE BULBS WERE USED, EVEN THEY WERE ABOUT SEVEN TIMES THE COST OF A REGULAR FLORESCENT, AND I NEEDED EIGHT IN EACH ROOM. USING THOSE “REGULAR” FLUORESCENTS, AND TAKING A COLOR MATCH RESULTED IN THE CROWN LOOKING GREAT IN MY OFFICE, BUT OFF-COLOR OUTSIDE IN THE SUN. SO I PERSONALLY GO FOR THE 5500K BULBS. MOST NATURAL. BTW, FLUORESCENTS LOSE 1/3 OF THEIR LIGHT OUTPUT AFTER 700 HOURS, SO KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN CONSIDERING LED’S.
