Mr. Smith is one of the most knowledgeable and capable Military Radio persons I know. He has been an inspiration and a mentor for me for years. With that said I have to say that sometimes along with great intellect comes questionable projects. The Red Radio Flyer radio wagon comes to mind, but this fixation on wanting to use the PRR/ PTT as a transceiver makes about as much sense to me as putting a saddle on a Cow.
In a world full of radios like the PRC-25/77, PRC-68 and all the other transceivers out there, not taking into account things like SEM-35, PRC-6 and PRC-10 that I know you have converted and used I cannot understand why you did this strange project????
Perhaps its just because you can or maybe just to make me wonder what the point of the project is. Do have to give you credit that the panel, clamps with locking hardware and stenciling are all first rate work.
Excellent work, pointless but excellent none the less. But maybe I Can answer my own question in the fact that I have spent the last couple months designing and building a system that will allow me to pass data between a military ASCII terminal and a RTTY demodulator to use a ton of obsolete hardware to accomplish what I have already been doing with just a simple program on a computer. Perhaps it’s the process and not the end result?

The set configured on that "Snatch Plate" makes it easy to mount on my rally/meet transportation that arrives on the rear of the M151A1.
