In large centers , especially for HF, transmitters are usually placed in the transmitter room(s), the receivers in another room or even building, keying and audio goes by remote lines. The receivers have separate antennas from the transmitter antennas. In a large communication center, most transmitters are running on fixed frequencies, as each transmitter is dedicated to one circuit/net.
