I have one.? Inside is a industrial block power supply and a few wires.? The fan is somewhat noisy.? The supply is unstable in current limit so not good as a battery charger.? The connector is not useful so I replaced with Andersons.? I didn't check to see how much EMI the thing produced but the supply had recent CE ratings so shouldn't be too gross.
They do sometimes show up really inexpensively; right now I see them at $150 but they have been sold for far less than that.? If you have some gear that needs a lot of 28 volts this is good but it won't start a big dynamotor (such as for an ART-13) as it folds back.

If you've not already received the info, all "old familily" radio sets use a low Z single-button carbon mic element. The connector for audio (phones and mic) is the U-77/U. Fair Radio has them. I have a boxfull, someplace. ER, Sep. 2009 and Nov. 2009 have all info for audio plugs and jacks.
