If both antennas had clean threads, both were erected as 5-section and the lead-in wire lengths were adjusted to compensate for the slight overall length difference between the two, they should tune up the same. The main difference between the two sets in that the newer one is less expensive to produce and takes less maintenance.

Hello Everybody,
Something I�ve been pondering for some time has to do with antenna efficiency. Right now, I�m working my BC-654 using the MP-48-A antenna base with the appropriate antenna sections. I have the MP-65-A base ( Used with the later BC-1306 Radio ) with antenna sections equaling the same length as those used with the MP-48. Would there be an appreciable difference in performance if I used the BC-654 with the later antenna ?
