The J-36 is a WW2 semi-automatic key, which where made by Bunnell, Lionel, McElroy, and Vibroplex

My example:
U.S. Army, Key Type J-36, Order No. 7861, Phila-43, 1942, the Lionel Corp.

As far as I know NSN's where not in use at the time.

I have a number of military keys I use, both Signal Corp, and US Navy. The Titles of any such publications would be appreciated. I can obtain them if I have publication info. The US Government still has a lot of these TM's available new if you know what to ask for.
