All,
I was working for a two-way radio shop in Freehold NJ around 1971-1972
and was sent to work on a base station at a large military style building
in that area. It sat on top of a hill overlooking the water and New York
City. There was a VERY large diesel generator in one room, it looked
almost two stories tall. From what I can remember the building had two
"towers" one on each end and I think one of them had a light in it,
possibly for navigation (light house light). I was told it had something
to do with missile defense of the NYC area. Does anyone know / remember
what I'm refering to? I'm wondering if it is still there?
Thanks,
Bill
