[MRCA] Anyone ever built a CD-501-A Power cable for an SCR-284/BC-654??

Garret,
OK understand you have the original connectors, one male and the other female, 8 pins each, pins clearly numbered on the insulating inserts. Just wire Pin 1 to Pin 1, 2 to 2, etc. through 8 to 8. Remember to include an extra wire (or use the shields of one or more of the other wires if you go that route) to electrically tie the shells of the two connectors together. The original connectors are painted OD. Civilian equivalents made by Amphenol work OK too but don’t look as nice. As I mentioned in my earlier message there are no RF or audio lines in this cable that require shielding. Also the cable is quite short electrically speaking so #20 or #22 wire is more than heavy enough to run the radio but you could go to #18 for pins 1 & 2 which carry 6 and 12 vdc.
The reason you are having trouble finding the specific information you have been looking for in the TMs is because GI's were not expected (or authorized) to make up cables in the field. We hams do this all the time of course… :^)
