Peter,

Thanks for the reply. It would be nice if we could at least find the pin outs for that little 19 pin doo-dad :) That’s all I really need is some line out audio.

Line audio comes out of the control jack but the connector is completely unobtanium as it was a custom design and never manufactured in any significant volume before being discontinued.

Carl,

I'm in the same boat, and the cable you describe seems to be unubtanium-later. A company called tactic ale engineering (www.tacticaleng <http://www.tacticaleng/> dot com) manufactures them new, for the le, low price (!) of $175.00 each. Fortunately, there's an alternative. The Harris company makes a "y-cable that looks different, but performs the exact same function, and it's much more untrainable. Search for "Y" Adapter P/N 10372-1230 and you should find some. Last time I checked, Scott at American Milspec had some for around $65, and I bought mine off of everyone's favorite auction site for about $45.00. I'll try to attach pcs of mine for reference. It looks ugly, but it does the trick.

Now, all that said, if anyone has a line on the other Y-cable, I would be interested in knowing where it can be obtained.

Or, does anyone know how to get audio out of the "Control" jack on the front of the PRC-104b?

All,

I recently acquired a PRC-104B with the digital display that only has one “Aud” jack and one “Cont” jack. I’d like to use the rig for CW and as such, I believe I need a “Y” cable. So I can attach the key and handset or speaker. One of my green radio friends has one and the numbers on the cable are as follows…

56996
ASSYB4011697
MFR92837
This cable consists of two U-228/U connectors (female), and one U-229/U (male).

Does anybody know where one might find one of these “Y” cables or have an extra one that they’d be willing to part with?

I’ve looked at all the usual locations on-line and have come up empty handed. Hopefully this cable isn’t made from unobtanium :)
