Hi Gene -
I am working on some new portable military satellite terminals that will use
2290s and are intended to be transported by trained operators on commercial
airlines. 73 - Mike

Subject: [MRCA] BB-2590's and airlines
Hi friends.
I have been reading this document about batteries and the FAA allowances:
https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/ash/ash_programs/h
azmat/passenger_info/media/faa_airline_passengers_and_batteries.pdf
I am thinking of taking a trip and taking a milpack with me that uses 2 of
the 2590 batteries. Each of these has about 225 Wh of energy in them. It
seems to me that my reading of the above document says I am limited to 160
Wh per battery (I found the second page more easily read than the first
page).
Can anyone confirm what can be done about bringing 2590's on a plane? Has
anyone attempted to acquire some kind of permission to do it, if in fact,
they are not allowed?
Any input appreciated.
Eugene
PS I wont be coming to near-fest this time either. Too busy L
