[MRCA] M and S Saturday Net

       Interesting conditions for the Saturday net. I got on  an hour or 
so earlier to see if Walt KB3SBC was on but negative  and then worked 
Dale with good sigs.  Looked on APRS for Walt but last plot was up in 
the mountains.  Later got back on 5357 and worked Walt before the net at 
S1  to S2 and as  I understand it he was using the AT-1011 mounted on 
his vehicle and  transmitting from one of  the Observation Towers near 
Ft. Miles Delaware so running his transmitter  on top of the tower and 
coax down to the vehicle ?? Anyway ground wave between here and Southern 
Chickenland was pretty steady - obviously not NVIS or anything close to 
it so just too close .   A request  was made to Walt for a Chicken 
count  but I did not hear the reply. During the NET Pete was louder than 
usual, NN2K was the loudest, KA3TIN had a very good  signal as well as 
KW1I and N3FRQ .   .   .    But where was K3OD? and W2DGB? Also gave a 
good listen several times for Eugene W2HX  but no joy. My half wave  E-W 
doublet out performed the loop as far as reports but the loop gave 
better reception so wonder  - - -  may go back to a 200 foot doublet 
with the open wire line.
