The Harris RF-3200E is transported in an aluminum zero Halliburton case. The top part of the case houses the antenna coupler. The top half of the case containing the coupler can be removed and remoted out to the antenna site. The coupler requires only coax connection, sending power and control over the one coax. This makes it very convenient and makes sure you can use skinny coax between the transmitter and coupler by keeping the SWR down to nothing over that skinny coax (like RG-58 type stuff). All very convenient. Below is a picture of the insides of my coupler.
Why did I open it up? Well I had thought I might try to check into the OMRN network in the wee hours. And considering the wx was forecast to be stupendous (which it is, here in Nantucket) I decided to leave the coupler in the yard connected to the antenna (AS-2259/GR). That way I wouldn't have to fumble around in the dark to set it up.
Well at around 4AM I hear a noise that sounds like rushing water. I look out of the window and see the sprinklers running and doing an excellent job of filling up the antenna coupler's case! I ran out and left it upside down to allow the water to drain. Once the sun came up, I opened up the cover to allow any moisture to dry up.
Much to my pleasant surprise, everything was dry inside. Whew. I won't make that mistake again!
