A clarification of my equipment used on Sunday nights CW net. The
chassis for my half watt "transceiver" was not actually made by RCA -
it did have a RCA logo, the chassis was made by Comco. Comco
manufactured a lot of VHF Hi and Lo Band equipment and it was very
rugged comm gear purchased by numerous government agencies. Comco
liked to used plug in modules and the radio could be repaired by simply
removing a module and replacing it you could even do that with the final
PA module. I purchased a box of Comco gear at a hamfest several years
ago and most of the radios in my box were used by the USCG. What was
interesting is that some of the sets that were in the Coast Guard box
were on Lo Band below 6 meters which I may convert to 51.0 if I can
figure out how to modify the receiver wide band reception.
BTW the net is held on Sunday at 21:00 local time and Ted W3PWW is NCS.
