I have the same inclination. I have some theories:
I always had wire antenns installed it trees. The leaves are down and the trees are bare in the winter so it is easier to wrangle the rope and wires through the trees.
- I do most of my indoor operation in the winter. I like to spend the nice summer days outdoors and do lots of portable operation from parks or the beach when the weather is nice and warm.
Another habit of mine is jury-rigging a "temporary" antenna for evaluation and using it for at least 10 years.

Subject: [MRCA] Antenna Technical Question
Can anyone explain the source of the compelling natural or perhaps
unnatural force that drives one to erect, take down, or modify wire
antennas during the coldest and snowiest months of the year?
