Hello all,
I recently acquired a nice PSC-3 Satcom transceiver. It was built by Cincinnati electronics, same company that built the PRC-70 and the two radios seem to share some similarities. The PSC-3 uses two kinds of batteries. First type is BB-542/U and uses a "small" battery box. This uses the same connector as the PRC-70. The radio can also use a pair of 590/390/2590 style batteries. But it needs a "taller" battery box. Pictures here:

Does anyone know where such a taller battery box might be located? Initially I thought this could use the same battery box as the PRC-104 (CY-7875) but I then realized that in the PSC-3, the two x90 batteries are offset, not centered in the radio like the CY-7875. You can see this in one of the pictures where I stuck two BB-590 batteries on the rear of the radio.
I do wonder if there is a battery box for the PRC-70 that might have taken x90 style batteries? If so, I wonder if this could be what I am looking for.
Anyone know?
thanks
