Lets see if I can get this straight, Thursday and Saturday, I hope both
days, I will try and check into the Moose and Squirrel Net using slow
speed CW. This mode(CW) was authorized with other digitial modes in
March 2012 with the condition that CW and the new modes be sent on the
"channel center" frequency. Thus for our Moose and Sq channel of 5357.0
USB which is the "DIAL" frequency which is off set for audio 1.5 Kcs
lower from the actual "channel center" frequency of 5358.5 which is the
actual carrier center frequency.
While I am sending CW if you should hear a tone of approx 1500 cycles.
:-) As you tune lower in frequency the audio pitch on your
transceiver which is on USB should increase in frequency. As you tune
higher in frequency the pitch should decrease in frequency. Confused yet?
The main purpose is to see if the 1500 cycle CW signal will be within
the pass band of the typical military SSB transceiver.
