Gang,
It's been suggested that we try to get back to our roots by encouraging
HF AM operation in the field exercises. In the past, 4 or 5 years ago,
we had good success using 3885 KHz. A couple of watts and a low dipole
would get up out of a hole and over the ridge to HQ at Gilbert.
However, I have a suspicion that, under current band conditions, NVIS on
75M in the middle of the afternoon isn't going to work well at all.
I'd like to set up a sched with one (or more) of you guys within 100
miles of Jersey to get a handle on this situation. It would be helpful
if you can easily QSY between 75, 60, and 40 meters.
Who's available?
Al
