[MRCA] Moose & Squirrel QSY

Hi Ray,

Conditions have not been great through out the Summer, Of late the
close-in guys, say 100 mile from Jersey City are decent, but I'm having
difficulty with the New England contingent.
I'm hoping we will return to better conditions as the days get shorter.
40-meters would probably solve the 200-300 mile issue, but then we'd
probably have trouble close in.

Used my 40 meter dipole but the question I have is that I was hearing net control and one or two other stations strong but not many of the others, is this common? Or is it just that my technique sucks?

The rationale is to get onto an even KHz carrier frequency so radios like unmodified PRC-47's and PRC-74's can be used. (Yes, I know you can easily pull a PRC-74 500 Hz, IF you have perfect pitch.) Dennis points out the only thing that held this change back. The average ricebox needs to be modified to tune the new 60-meter freq recently approved by the FCC.
