3885 OLD MILITARY RADIO NET:

This year Joe, WA4VAG, opted to use a fully operational, all original, SCR-274. Unlike like some years past, the radio set performed flawlessly & the backup radio was never needed.

Notes:
Again this year it looks like Bob W9RAN should get the prize for most oddball radio. This year he had a Sonar marine portable/emergency transceiver dating from the 50's. It looked & worked great. I hope somebody got some pictures.(Last Year it was a Spilspury).

For the second year in a row we were plagued by the deliberate interference caused by KC8ZUL and his broadcast transmitter located on the far west side of the flea market. He also limited my ability to check in to the Old Military Radio Net 05:00 Saturday Morning. Both obnoxious & apparently drunk, I think it's way past time a formal complaint be filed with the Dayton Hamvention board.

Notes:
John, K9WT had a little trouble keeping radios going to start with, many of us had handset trouble throughout the event. Even though I had brought extras, I was out of operational ones by the time Dayton was over.

Ray(KA3EKH) & I had some debate over who had the heaviest radio. His R-107 and my CPRC-510(operating off gell cells) were the top contenders. I think Ray won.
