In my humble opinion, if I can't reasonably expect that I can fix it 
when it breaks, or have some LOG support nearby and accessible, I won't 
touch it, anymore.  Years ago when I worked for a ITT/EPL, our small 
special projects group (all but one was a ham) had a saying:  "One 
always needs two, a pair, and a spare."   That way, there's always an 
out.  Although I fully appreciate the current and near-current green 
radio sets,  I choose not to acqiure any of them and I don't do "static 
displays".  For me, anything more than a GRC-19, and maybe... maybe a 
GRC-106, and that's it.   Also, my days of ready access to current T.O. 
s and TMs is past.  I think my last manual pick-up was for a couple of 
PRC-68B UHF sets.  I'll think I'll just hang with my ARC-8's and 
such..... Urrrah!
