In the past, we usually ran three sites,  Big Pocono, Jacobsburg, and Beltzville.  Jacobsburg is on the other side of a 1500 foot ridge, and Beltzville is down in a hole.  The teams heading to these sites generally "hill-topped" on 51 on the way out, and then set up NVIS antennas at those two sites.  A simple low dipole or end-fed half-wave works just fine.  The NVIS stations generally can hear each other.

This year Dale's adding Penns Peak and Minsi Lake.  The former is another high spot, so there may be LOS between there and both Gilbert and Big Pocono.  Big Pocono is the place to go if you just warming up to this stff, especially if you want to work VHF.
