I wonder if we set up an HF freq at big pocano for the other sites to reach and then big pocano to HQ via VHF? I've never done that before but I wonder if its possible?
In the past, we usually ran three sites, Big Pocono, Jacobsburg, and
Beltzville. Jacobsburg is on the other side of a 1500 foot ridge, and
Beltzville is down in a hole. The teams heading to these sites
generally "hill-topped" on 51 on the way out, and then set up NVIS
antennas at those two sites. A simple low dipole or end-fed half-wave
works just fine. The NVIS stations generally can hear each other.

This year Dale's adding Penns Peak and Minsi Lake. The former is
another high spot, so there may be LOS between there and both Gilbert
and Big Pocono. Big Pocono is the place to go if you just warming up to
this stff, especially if you want to work VHF.
