75 meters in on it's way back.
This last week I have made some checks on 3996 in the evening to see if the propagation was such, & the noise low enough, to use it again.
The east coast "99ers" have been coming in pretty good for over a week early in the evening. Tuesday night I had less than a S7 noise level. Wednesday night the West Coast Military net was pretty good with KE6ZIQ, KI6EZA, & KA6PGN all being 100% copy from the west coast into Missouri.
Thursday night after the 40 meter net I went down to 3996usb & gave a call with 25 watts & Paul WB4WCJ promptly answered. Being surprised he could hear me at that low power level, I lowered my power to 5 watts & Paul could still hear me in S.Carolina. The bulk of our conversation was carried out with me at 50 watts, and him at 100. That was at 02:45z.
So, 75 meters is looking good. I'm going to start listening up down there again nightly at around 03:00z or before.
