I deployed my PRC-320/portable today for the net using battery power and 
the whip antenna with a 40' counterpoise.  This was the first time I 
checked into the net "portable".  I was working (Shhh) so I set up on 
the trunk lid of my Crown Vic.
Check ins were light.  I can see why with the super WX!
Al, N3FRQ (net control) was about 5-7, K2ORS mobile with an IC-706 & 
Hamstick and WB2JWU were both 5-9++
