[MRCA] Meissner E H Scott RBO Variant?

Just saw Chuck Teeter's article in the new ER magazine re the 1945 Meissner 3
band receiver he recently acquired. Surprised the article made no mention of
how the radio is obviously a slightly remade E.H. Scott RBO shipboard receiver!
Wonder of Meissner was building RBOs under subcontract for the Navy and got
stuck with a lot of inventory for them at the end of the war, or perhaps they
bought excess RBO inventory from Scott? I have seen another odd receiver, on a
few occasions, believe it was made by National, with a mil spec R number which
was obviously based on the Scott SLRM chassis, except that it used 7 pin
miniature tubes, the sockets for which were mounted on metal plates bolted into
the original larger octal socket chassis holes of the Scott! Was definitely a
factory mod, not a ham homebrew adaptation. Frequency coverage was virtually
identical to the SLRM. Anybody know anything about that set?
