[MRCA] 29.4 Ten meters Open

I could not turn my R-442A MC control any further than 30, then I found that 
turning the KC control CCW from 30.00 revealed the red flag and I was able 
to monitor below 30.  Heard some stations around 29.6, but nothing on 29.4 
while I was listening this afternoon.

If you turn the MC dial counter clockwise past 30mc will it not go?
Is the R-442 on the data plate followed by an EX or similar?

I have heard of some very few VRC-12's that would not work below 30, but 
nobody I know has ever actually encountered one.

My own personal 442 will work perfectly down to 29.45 but drops out at 
29.40. It needs a slight synthesizer tweek.

KI0FP was on yesterday with his RT-67(his RT524 is currently ailing) with 
K9WT operating an RT-246.
I talked with KW1I he using a rice box with my SEM-35. Last week KK1K was on 
briefly with his SEM-35 as was W7QHO with an RT-67 & PRC-9.
