OK,
I got a reply from the Peter Dahl/Harbach folks. The updated
transformer will have the following specs, shown below. The voltage
shown are the actual AC voltages and the design is for a FW bridage with
capacitor input filter for each supply voltage. The 28v supply is
designed for a nominal 50,000ufd filter, only. The voltages may look
low to some but remember we're going to use capacitor input so one has
to multiply by 1.4 to get the actual voltage. The 20v winding is
designed to provide 28v at about 7 amps under continuous duty. I made
some measurements on my ATC and found that when the autotune is engaged
the current draw is about 9 amps (which is at the max rated current of
the winding of the proposed transformer).
Primary: 117/230vac 60Hz.
Sec 1 850v @.5A CCS
Sec 2 300v @ .5A CCS
Sec 3 20v @12A CCS
Weight est. 30 lbs.
The price for quantity 1-4 is $280 each. The price for the transformer
without the 28v winding is around $220 each. That looks to be the
bottom line. I've been told there can be a price break for quantities
above 4. That's for either one, not an aggregate of both. I will
probably opt for the transformer with just the two HV windings just to
keep the price down and as I already have a few 28v switching supplies I
can use. I'll be writing all this up in Electric Radio as soon as my
NIB ART-13 arrives at the end of the month and I get it on the air.
Please let me know again who may be interested in which transformer.
I'll keep a list and let everyone know via MRCA what the quantities are
up to in... say 7-10 days? Beyond that, I would suppose that it will be
everyone for themselves. Jeff at Peter Dahl/Harbach is who I'm working
with and he knows what's up with the ART-13 transformers. Anyone with
comments, please pass them on.
