Mike be sure and check for floating grounds and AC leakage.

Check each piece of equipment against a good ground for AC leakage.

Subject: [MRCA] T-368 T/R

| Hey Guys,
| Great hearing some of you this morning on the net.
| Thank you all again for a very fun time at MRCA in Gilbert!
| I look forward to attending again.
|
| I'll have two questions today. One regarding my T-3, and the other "under
separate cover" regarding my new T-195 which some of you saw at Gilbert.
|
| First question:
| I thought I had things squared away with the T-368-E this morning during
the net, but I was clearly mistaken.
| Transmitter was FB after warm-up, during my check-in, and for my first
round in the net. As soon as Ted handed it off to me for my second round, I
put my Drake R-4B receiver in Standby and keyed the mic.
| I immediately threw my mains breaker.
| Reset all and the same thing happened when trying to break back in moments
later.
| In an attempt to eliminate possibilities, I discovered that if I used an
outside antenna for the Drake receiver and NOT the one used by the T-3, then
I could transmit without throwing the mains.
|
| I *think* Ted had mentioned that the T/R relay sometimes goes bad or is
weak in a T-3.
| Do you guys think this has happened in mine?
|
| Thanks in advance to all!

| Happy Halloween!
