I recently parted with my PRC-64. I wasn't using it and it was gathering
dust in the basement, so, with everything else going on with our upcoming
move to Georgia, I decided to sell it.

A former Australian SAS troop bought it for the Royal Signals/SAS museum in
Australia! I sent the radio to him and it arrived in about 12 days.

THEN...I got an e-mail from him that really set me back!!

He said that the color & markings on the radio set were from one of the
Australian units he was assigned to for THREE tours!! Not only that, the bag
had Royal Signals markings on it, also. These were traced to another unit he
had served in. Now, he is researching old radio logs and equipment
dispersment info to find out if he actually had operated THAT particular
PRC-64 during his stint in the SAS.

Talk about a very, VERY small world!!

PS: The radio is part of an interactive display in the museum allowing
visitors to actually talk to operators in the next room using the 1W AM
position or CW. Really, really neat.
