You should be shamed into getting your 5300 on the air, pal. AHAHAHAHAH!
Now, Brooke has been coaching me and says that a LM-317L (TO-92 pkg) is the
place to start, so I will get one and go from there.
I tend to think that the dropping resistor would be the right KISS-type
solution to the situation. However, I like the idea of the regulator,
especially if I can get it on a small pcb and fit it into the battery box
between the two SLA sticks.
Jan Xtals has mine on order....the should be here Friday or Monday. I have
3885 as one of my chcoices, too. 3560 for QRP CW and 7030 for 40M QRP. I may
have a problem getting the 64 to tune 40M, since the TM says that this rig
stops at 6.5 MHz. A little tweak here, a little tweak there....
