[MRCA] PRC-64 Battery Pack - need low power regulator

Hi Rich,
Radioshack has LM317 adjustable voltage regulators for $2.29. You'll
need to add a pot or a couple of resistors to get the appropriate
output. Like the series resistor and similar schemes, one third of the
power will go to the radio, and two thirds comes out as heat. However,
I'm not sure anything more elaborate, like a switching regulator is
worth the considerable effort. I think the receiver only draws a few
mils. How about 3 AA cells for the RX?
