Hi,

Al and I kicked around some ideas with respect to field exercise and we
came up with a few ideas. I have taken what we talked about a little
further, hopefully without altering the intention. We didn't really
discuss the operating aspect, but more the antennas and such.

Let's put up our traditional open wire fed dipole, which is a known good
performer for Ted to conduct the OMRN with.

Let's put up Gene's AT-2259(or whatever the real nomenclature is, I pulled
that directly out of my, er, whatever) and hook a GRC-9 to it for a low
power NVIS station.

Let's put up a vertical antenna at the fairground, too, with its own
transmitter. Volunteers? If Ted had his TCS and his GRC-19, the TCS would
go nice here. Anyone else have something to offer?

Let's let anyone that wants to go to the mountain, and set up whatever

Let's use my mobile TCS to go the same distance again on the other side of
the mountain and set up a 1/2-wave end-fed antenna in addition to the
mobile whip so we can try vertical and horizontal antennas there. I could
take a few other folks, maybe with VHF stuff or even a second HF set.

Ted could call up all stations, asking both the other fairground stations,
and a strong station from the mountain for relays(which might be the
distant mobile, or a weak station from mountain which came in better on
either of the other fairground stations)

Once the rotation was established, everyone should have heard everyone else
make a transmission and the next round could be reports.
