[MRCA] Vibrators

Wasn't that AVT-15A and AVR-20A? If so, it is wired for 6 volts. As with
Dennis, the only octal based vibrators I've ever come across are VB-11, 12 and
13 used in the PE-120-(*). I didn't bother to check the base wiring of the
VB-12 (the 6-volt one) as even if it would work, they've become almost unobtanium
because when the US and French armies abandoned 6-volt vehicles, the PE-120's
got put into 24 volt ones and the 6-volt vibrators were discarded.

The vibrator used in the AVT-15A was of the shunt (rather than series) type.
I would rather recommend that you make a solid state replacement. Finding an
octal plug is a lot easier that finding a 4, 6 or 7-pin one as used on most
vibrators. There was a circuit shown in ER some years back for one to replace
the vibrator in a DY-88 or DY-105. I have a .TIF copy of the article but it
doesn't show what issue it was in. Maybe Richard will see this and post it.
The name of the article was "GRC-9 Operating Notes", by Richard Brunner.
