A simple field expedient technique to overcome the heater warmup delay for fast break in voice operation is to put the mode switch in the MCW position adjacent to the VOICE high power position prior to transmitting, then put it to VOICE high just as you key the mic. The heaters run full time in MCW as well as CW. Just need to repeat the drill prior to every transmission, or once you are in a QSO, just wait for the output to come up in voice after telling people yuo will have a slight delay each time. On my set you can hear the dyno slow a little and see the power output come up on the neon bulb as a cue to start talking.
