I just got around to looking this up this morning.  If the "TRC-3" you are 
referring to is AN/TRC-3 Radio Relay Set, the book is wrong.  TM 11-2601 covers 
AN/TRC-1 Terminal Set, AN/TRC-3 Radio Relay Set and AN/TRC-4 Amplifier.  
AN/TRC-3 is essentially two AN/TRC-1's back to back, with or without one or two 
AN/TRC-4.

BTW, wonder why in the world CQ picked TM 11-5820-401 as the number for their 
book?  That's the base number for the TM set covering AN/VRC-12, 43, et al.
