Hi guys, and hope all of you on here are doing well. It's been ages since
I've seen any activity here on the list. Anyway, I am just curious about
the Expo HT that I have. When my city back in Michigan went to 800 in 2001
I happened to find it in a box full of various items. The reason I was
alowd to keep it is because it was the last radio that my late grandfather
had before retiring from there in 1993. I remember him and a few other
people indicating that when it was brand new and local departments in my
area started to purchase these that they were over $1500. For the mid 80's
this was a lot of money, and I was just curious as to why the high price tag
for the Expo? It only has 2 channels, and just to get crystals and things
for whatever you need they all are soldered on the main circuit board making
it more difficult to change these items out as needed.
