[Motorola] VHF MAXTRAC/RADIUS

Be aware that the ability to be programmed to channels on 2.5 kHz centers
does not make a radio narrow-band compliant. Most MaxTrac, Radius, and
GM300 radios that I have owned cannot be made narrow-band compliant. In
addition to being unable to tune at 2.5 kHz centers and unable to set voice
and PL deviation on TX and RX to proper levels and bandwidth, most such
radios cannot maintain the required stability for 11K0F3E emissions.

Subject: [Motorola] VHF MAXTRAC/RADIUS

Programming up some old MAXTRAC & RADIUS mobiles.

The RSS fields allow you to type in "split" channels (e.g. 159.1275) however

when you hit "enter" the software rounds up or down so you end up off freq.
and not exactly where you want to be.

Is there a "cheat" to get these freqs programmed in accurately? I think
holding the ALT key (?) lets some ham freqs get programmed in out of band?
There's another trick using a hex editor? Will any of these (or other)
techniques let MAXTRAC/RADIUS go to these splits, or are these radios simply

to old to do something that sophisticated?

Using the "warp" function is nmot a desirable solution.

Thanks!
