The splinter channels require 2.5KHz deviation, which the Maxtrac is not capable of. The oscillator in the Maxtrac also isn't of sufficient stability to tune splinter channels with an acceptable error.

Buy a radio that's capable of narrowband and you'll be good.

Programming up some old MAXTRAC & RADIUS mobiles.

The RSS fields allow you to type in "split" channels (e.g. 159.1275) however
when you hit "enter" the software rounds up or down so you end up off freq.
and not exactly where you want to be.

Is there a "cheat" to get these freqs programmed in accurately? I think
holding the ALT key (?) lets some ham freqs get programmed in out of band?
There's another trick using a hex editor? Will any of these (or other)
techniques let MAXTRAC/RADIUS go to these splits, or are these radios simply
to old to do something that sophisticated?

Using the "warp" function is nmot a desirable solution.

Thanks!
