[Motorola] HT1250 PROGRAMMING

I'll be you hit on it! With the LS radio, the "hot Keypad" box is checked.
With the LS+ radio, the box is greyed out.

Discovered that if I changed Keypad/Mircophone field to
Programmable-Menu/Numeric, the Hot Keypad field lit up and I could check the
box.

Hoping this was the solution, I changed the fields, tried to write the radio
but got the following error: "Unable to get codeplug from the device in
order to verify whether we can write to this device or not".

What are the implciations of this...and do I have any work-arounds?
