Hi Eric...
I appreciate your comments, and also just posted another email about
changing programming fields in the problem radio.
To be clear, what I am trying to do is get the radio to generate manual DTMF
tones from the keypad (just like in the old days), has nothing to do with
ID, paging , selective signalling, etc. Just transmit DTMF over the air when
PTT is depressed, also give the user an audible DTMF sidetone
simulatneously.
I got a number of these radios some years back, and based on your comments,
apparently one or more had been modified, despite looking new and operating
just fine. If this is the case, then the problem radio's full keypad needs
to be interfaced with the logic board, as you stated earlier.
Do you know where I can find info on the retrofit you mention? I've looked
thru the BATLABS site but couldn't find anything.
