[Motorola] HT440 questions

Gene,

The standard 3-hour desktop charger for the HT440 and its nearly identical
twin HT90 is the NLN7646A. The H34LCU radio uses a 12.5 VDC battery.

Regarding the motorboating, try connecting your power supply right at the
battery contact springs, and ensure that the power supply has enough
capacity to run the radio. The symptom is not normal with a stiff power
supply or a battery.

Subject: [Motorola] HT440 questions

Gents:

     I just acquired a ^^ HT440 with speaker/mike and battery, all in
apparent good condition. Two questions for you:

1. What is the proper charger I need for this rig's batt? (Full model
number is H34LCU6124A.)

2. When I powered the unit from an external 12 VDC source via clip leads
to the chassis, I heard a motoboating sort of sound from the speaker/mike.
The sound disappeared when I removed the mike. What might be the cause or
is this normal?

     Thanks for any help.
