A local ham at the Rickreall Oregon Hamfest has been refitting older  
rock-bound rigs with a frequency matrixer that replaces the crystals with a mild  
programmability similar to the old 'Clegg' 2m rigs On mobiles this is easy based  
on space in the case, on HT's it is rather 'clunky' looking, as it is an 
outside  the box critter.
