Might some of the many ICs available these days be useful in restoring
some of this old equipment. Unless one wanted to be a purist in the
restoration. Perhaps a switching power supply circuit could be combined
with a gel cell or a few D cells to replace the 67.5 V battery.

Another problem with equipment this old is bandwidth. These radios are
from the era of 15kHz deviation and 60 kHz channel spacing. It might
be nice to have a channel devoted to wide band operation. Maybe it
would have to just be on 6M to find enough space.

I don't have anything this old anymore. Just a few PT-300s and some
Motracs.

Some nice pictures. You've got a picture of my first VHF-FM mobile
radio on there, the last one on the page. Actually, it was a later
version and went up to 52.525, an FMTR-50D - 50 watts from a pair of
807s, loctal tubes, a vibrator supply for the receiver and a dynamotor
for the transmitter. Don't leave it on unless the engine is running to
keep the battery charged.
