Wow,

Had forgotten about the Metrum.  I had one, mid-1970s, or so, had the
multiple offset option and I fixed up a Vanguard synthesizer
so I didn't have to buy crystals for multiple channel operation.

Nice radio.  It had a strong transmitter, too.  One day, I ran the 
battery in the vehicle down, because the mike jammed on TX and
operated until it ran out of power.  Didn't seem to bother anything, 
except that it tied up a repeater in the Raleigh area for hours.  
My bad, so to speak.

Swapped it with a guy who wanted it more than I did!
